Sub users (delegating access)

What is a sub user?

Return and Auditor contacts may allow other users to view and edit returns on their behalf.

These nominated other users are called Sub users.

Creating sub-users

  1. Navigate to the 'Setup Sub Users' section
    Setup subusers
  2. Click add
    Add sub user
  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to give access to
    Add sub user email
  4. Add a comment about them (optional)
  5. Click Save
  6. Check their details on the Sub Users screen
    Sub user added
  7. You will need to notify the sub user that they have been granted access
If a sub user needs to be amended or deleted, the process is almost identical, but instead you use the Edit or Delete options.

Access rights

Sub users inherit their access rights from the parent Returns/Auditor contact.
This means a sub user can access & edit, all returns that the parent contact has an association with. If the parent Returns/Auditor contact changes (& the association is broken), this access inheritance is lost and the new Returns/Auditor contact will have to recreate the sub user.
